🌿 Devotional: “I Am Doing a New Thing” – Isaiah 43:19
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

There are times when our lives feel like a desert — dry, silent, without direction. We look back at the past and wonder if God can still do something fresh and life-giving in us. But then this verse comes like a clear fountain in the dryness: “I am doing a new thing.”

God is not trapped in yesterday. He is the Creator of tomorrow. Even when we can’t see the way, He is making one. Even when we don’t feel the water, He is causing rivers to spring up. This “new thing” is not always something around us — it is often something He is doing within us: a new hope, a new vision, a new heart.

🌸 May you pause today and listen — not just for what God has done, but for what He is doing right now. He is not finished with you. He is beginning something new.

Lord,
Thank You that You are not only the God of the past, but also the God of the new.
When I am weary and my world feels like a desert, remind me that You are already making a way where I see none.
Help me hear Your voice above the noise of my fears.
Help me notice Your work — even if it’s just a small sprout of hope.
Create something new in my heart, Lord.
Renew my mind, restore my dreams, and let Your river of life flow through me.
I trust You — even in the dry places.
